A Methodist Chapel first appears here on the second edition Ordnance Survey maps of 1894-99 (1). Modern streetview images (2) show that the church is a brick-built building, rendered and painted white on the southern wall with cornerstones (quoins) and four arched windows. The entrance is located on a projected porch on the western gable, the doorway in the south wall of the porch. The church has a pitched tiled roof. It is likely that the building was a Primitive Methodist Church in the early 20th Century. It is now just known as Pelton Methodist Church and is known to contain a communion set dedicated as a First World War memorial (3).
